Congratulations to McKay Gleason , Class of 2025, who was 1 of the 62 students from across Rhode Island who earned the Herbert and Claiborne Pell Medal for U.S. History this year. Originally presented by Senator Claiborne Pell and his wife Nuala Pell, the award recognizes college and high school students in the state who have excelled in U.S. History. We celebrated student achievement by raffling off many prizes for sophomore and junior students meeeting benchmarks, or showing growth, on standardized assessments. Thank you to the PTG, Pizza Hollywood, MTown community, and Sports Boosters for assisting with raffle items. With over 250 eligible students, we were able to gift 130 prizes!

As we head towards graduation we wanted to announce and celebrate The Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Congratulations Josh McKenna and Emely Sola-Mendez!

Thank you for Bank Newport and Secretary of State Gregg Amore, State Treasurer James Diossa and Bank Newport President and CEP Jack Murphy for hosting our 2nd Annual Financial Literacy Fair for MHS Seniors. Seniors learned about budgeting, the cost of living and preparing for incidentals. We had a host of community businesses collaborate as well~

We navigated the weather yesterday with a great field trip to the Newport Mansions and US History 1 classes!
