The World-Readiness Standards for Leaning Languages have five goal areas. These are: Communications, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. The goals are to prepare learners to apply the skills and understandings measured by the standard, to bring a global competence to their future careers and experience.

World Languages Curriculum Framework (posted Jan 2024)

The World Languages Curriculum Framework is posted and available on the World Languages page of RIDE’s website (from the Instruction and Assessment tab open Other Subjects page, scroll down and click the plus sign next to World Languages Framework).

While the Rhode Island World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages guide what students should know and be able to do, the World Languages Curriculum Framework provides guidance to educators around the implementation of the Standards, particularly as they relate to the design and use of curriculum materials, instruction, and assessment.
