Middletown, Rhode Island is located in the south-central area of Aquidneck Island in Narragansett Bay. Middletown is a coastal community with a rich history. Light industry, agriculture, military, and tourism are the primary employers. Adjacent to Newport, RI, 40 miles from Providence, and about 70 miles from Boston, Middletown residents have wonderful access to a variety of athletic, recreational, cultural, and educational resources.
Middletown Public Schools is comprised of 5 schools that service over 2,100 students.
Middletown High School is a comprehensive 9 - 12 High School.
J.H. Gaudet Middle School is a 6-8 Middle School comprised of 2 teams per grade level.
Gaudet Learning Academy is a Grade 4-5 Elementary School within the Gaudet building.
There are 2 elementary schools that service Forest Elementary (K-3) & Aquidneck Elementary (PK-3)
The district has approximately 200 teachers (certified) and 60 clerks, custodians and teacher assistants (non-certified).
