Gaudet Middle School
Suspicious Vehicle
MIDDLETOWN, R.I., On February 12, 2024, around 7:50 AM, Middletown
police and fire personnel responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the
parking lot of the Gaudet Middle School.
Upon thorough investigation, it was quickly determined the male occupant in
the vehicle died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
As a precaution, during the investigation, the school was placed on a brief
lockdown. Upon determining there was no threat to the school or its
occupants, normal school activities resumed without further interruption.
The vehicle in question was subsequently towed from the premises, and
emergency services departed after clearing the scene.
