STUDENT OF THE WEEK:

FOREST AVENUE SCHOOL THIRD GRADER JENORD LEWIS

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (DECEMBER 17, 2021) – In each of the schools across Middletown, there are students doing excellent, noteworthy things. As part of a new feature from the Town, a different student will be spotlighted for their efforts to make Middletown a more special place to live, work and play.

Name: Jenord Lewis

Age: 9

School: Forest Avenue School

Grade: Third

Parent(s)/Guardian(s): George Lewis and Nordia White

Accomplishment(s): Jenord is known throughout the Forest Avenue elementary school as someone who’s always in a good mood and ready to help others. At a time when some are too busy to lend a hand, Jenord is there for everyone and loves being at school.

Quotable: “I like to tell myself that I can do my best.”

Favorite Color: Yellow

Best TV Show: “PJ Masks”

Favorite Book: Any book about space because I like to learn about the solar system.

Person/People I Look Up To: My parents because they are kind to others.

Go To Meal: A kids meal from McDonald’s with chicken

When I’m Not In School: I like to play with my giant inflatable planets, dwarf planets, stars and moons.

If I Was Able To Go To Space For The Day: “I would look to discover new planets; I would like to visit Mars first to see if it has seasons and snow. I would take a rocket ship to space with other astronauts.”

What I’d Like To Do When I’m Older: “When I’m older, I’d like to make a new country, an island off France or the United Kingdom and it would be called Jenord Land. The capital of the country would be Lewis City.”

Comment From Teacher/Staff Member: Third grade teacher Toni Cawley said “Jenord has a kind and positive attitude. He is excited to learn about new topics and enjoys sharing his findings with others. Jenord loves to come to school and is motivated to learn.”

Who I’d Like To Thank: My parents, family and friends
